Express Complete Three Games in Four Days

The Wells College baseball team completed its third game in a four-day span against visiting Alfred State. The Express rallied from a 2-0 deficit to tie the game midway through the contest before the Pioneers tacked on seven more for a 9-2 final on Thursday, March 11.

Wells registered five hits on the day with four going for extra bases. Of the five, Ian Crawford's (Syracuse, N.Y) was the biggest when his 2-RBI double scored Kevin Spaeth (Haddon Heights, N.J.) and Derek Shea (West Kingston, R.I.) to tie the game.

Also recording doubles were Zack Odum (Elmira, N.Y.), Luke Eitner (N. Lehigh, Pa.) and Shea. Dylan Nolan (Brick, N.J.) rounded out the Wells hitters.

Austin Jordan (Kane, Pa.) took the loss from the mound after four innings of work, while Chase Sebastian (Eldred, Pa.), Zach Kemp (Ithaca, N.Y.), Jared Strait (Lansing, N.Y.) and Shea all saw time in relief.

The Express will have a couple of days off before returning with the team's first doubleheader of the season against St. Lawrence on Sunday, March 14 with the opener scheduled for an 11:30 a.m. start.
