Wells College to Host NCAA Baseball Regional

Wells College is hosting one of eight NCAA Division III Baseball Championship regional sites at Falcon Park in Auburn, N.Y. The six-team, double-elimination tournament will run from Thursday, May 27 through Sunday, May 30, and will feature Eastern Connecticut State University, SUNY Cortland, Keystone College (Pa.), Mitchell College (Conn.), Tufts University (Mass.) and the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy.

The tournament website can be found at: https://www.wells-express.com/tournaments/bsb/2020-21/index

Spectators will be allowed, up to 1,400 people (50 percent of Falcon Park's capacity). Temperature checks will be conducted at the gate, and while masks are not required, fans are asked to bring them and also maintain proper social distancing. Ticket prices are $3 per day (cash only).

It will be the 13th time Falcon Park has played host to NCAA regional championship baseball since 2000. Due to COVID-19 issues, the NCAA baseball tournament field was reduced for this season from 58 to 48 teams. Instead of the regional/super regional format that was first employed by Division III in 2019, the NCAA instead this year has temporarily gone back to six-team regionals, with each regional winner advancing to the NCAA Division III World Series June 4-9 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

The opening two days of competition have been set and are listed below with the third and fourth days of competition determined by the number of remaining teams.

All updates can be found on the Wells College athletics website.
