Express Handle Defenders at Home

On Tuesday night the Wells College baseball team hosted the Clarks Summit Defenders for an afternoon game.

The Express was coming off a weekend where they took 2 out of 3 games from the Gallaudet Bison in DC as he opened conference play.

Austin Jordan got the start for the Express as the defenders were able to post 1 run in the top of the first inning. However, in the bottom of the first, after a Zack Odum single, Luke Eitner hit him home for the RBI. Later in the bottom of the first Zac Legaretta, the United Easy player of the week, would drive home Eitner to give the Express a 2-1 lead heading to the second inning. In the 3rd inning, Legaretta came up once again and hit an inside-the-park home run sending Aaron Izquierdo home, as well as himself! This would help give the Express a 5-3 lead they would never look back from. They would end up blowing the game wide open with an 8 run 6th inning in which the bases were cleared after 3 straight wild pitches. Dylan Capello would make his pitching debut for the season in the last two innings giving up 0 hits, 0 runs, and striking out 2.

The Express would take care of the defenders at home by a score of 14-6.
