Wells Baseball Travels To Elmira

On Tuesday night the Wells College baseball team hit the road to take on Elmira College at Corning Community College.

Last week Elmira College defeated Wells College at home so the Express was looking to get a bit of revenge this evening. 

Austin Jordan was on the mound for the Express and turned in an outstanding performance. Jordan pitched a complete game for the Express allowing only 3 runs on 7 hits. He struck out 9 and walked three giving Wells College a great chance to grab a road win. The Express first got on the board in the second inning thanks to a sac fly from Zac Legaretta. In the second inning, Zack Odum was hit by a pitch with bases loaded and the Express were able to add a second run. In the fourth inning, Luke Eitner doubled to right field sending home Zack Odum and Aaron Izquierdo. Julian Kemp would lay down a sac bunt in the 5th inning scoring Zac Legaretta. At this point, the Express had built a lead of 6-3 over Elmira College but they weren't done yet. In the 8th inning, the Express would get a run off a wild pitch, then another two runs when john Valinoti hit an infield single. Finally, in the 9th inning, Luke Eitner homered to left field bringing home Aaron Izquierdo and Max Odum. The Express would get their revenge this evening taking down Elmira College 12-3.
