Wells Express Athletes of The Week 3/16

Congratulations to this week's Athletes of the Week Mackenzie Powers and Zac Legaretta!

Mackenzie was selected this week based on her performance on Saturday at Cedar Crest. She helped the Express secure their first win of the season when she scored 7 goals and added 1 assist as Wells finished with a 20-6 victory over the Falcons. She also added 7 draw controls to her impressive offensive performance. Powers was nominated by her head coach Vic Goeller. This is Mackenzie's senior year at Wells studying psychology. She comes to Wells College from Syracuse New York! This is her first time winning Athlete of The Week!

Zac Legaretta was selected this week back on his performance in 5 games last week for the Wells College baseball team. Legaretta chipped in at least one hit in every contest he participated in this week, helping the Express pick up a pair of conference victories. The junior went 7-for-19 (.368) at the dish, driving in nine runs while scoring twice himself. Of his seven hits, five went for extra bags including a two triple game in a win over Gallaudet on the weekend. Defensively, Legaretta also registered 12 assists as well as eight putouts. Zac was also awarded the Player of the Week award by the United East Conference! He was nominated this week by his head coach Ryan Stevens. This is Legaretta's first season with the Express as a junior transfer from Cayuga Community College. Zac comes to Wells all the way from Visalia, California. This is his first time winning Athlete of The Week!.

Congratulations to both student-athletes!
