Men's Lacrosse Grab's First Win Of The Season

Wells College men's lacrosse hit the road for La Roche in Pittsburgh for a conference game on Saturday afternoon.

Rashon Beckett scored the first goal of the game to give Wells College an early lead only 30 seconds into the first. That was quickly followed by a goal from Dan Stevens giving the Express a 2-0 lead in just the first minute. In the second quarter, the Express grabbed the lead and continued to build on it. Goals from Jacob Stine, Rashon Beckett, and Joe Matala helped Wells College head into halftime with a 7-5 lead. Each team allowed one goal in the third quarter but due to some ejections, both teams played down the entire fourth quarter. Heading into the final 10 minutes of play, the game was tied at 10. Jacob Stine and John Favata scored back-to-back goals giving the Express a 12-10 advantage. La Roche scored one more time, but Isaac Craft was in goal for Wells College and came up with 16 saves and a few big late-game saves to seal the first victory of the season, 12-11.
