Dann Draws Defensive Student-Athlete of the Week Honors

GANSEVOORT, N.Y. – Goalkeeper Chelsea Dann (Flagstaff, Ariz.) was selected as the North Eastern Athletic Conference Defensive Student-Athlete of the Week for the sport of women's lacrosse, the conference office announced late Monday afternoon. The Express, who have already eclipsed their win total from the 2012 season, are off to a 4-3 start overall and a 2-0 mark in league play.

Dann, who has played every minute in goal for Wells this spring, recorded three straight victories in goal. Against Hilbert on Tuesday, Dann made five saves to earn the victory against the Hawks before turning aside eight shots on goal against Lancaster Bible on Friday. Against Wilson, Dann backstopped a 21-3 victory over the Phoenix while making two saves.

Amongst qualifying NEAC goalkeepers, Dann ranks third in goals-against average with a mark of 10.14 while placing fourth with a .408 save percentage. Her four wins tie her for second place overall in the conference as well.

The Express return to action this Wednesday, Apr. 10 as they host the Saxons of Alfred University in a 4:00 p.m. tilt at the South Athletic Field.
