Women's Lacrosse Grabs First Win Of the Season

Wells College women's lacrosse continued their non-conference schedule on the road Friday at Centenary University.

The Express offense was hot from the start with goals coming from three different women in the first quarter (Clara Lima, Grace Kahl, Julia Barnwell). Clara Lima also assisted on two of those goals. Lydia Thomas got in on the goal-scoring in the second quarter netting one of her own that was assisted by Lima as well. The Express carried a 7-2 lead into halftime. In the third quarter, Kayla Groth scored her first collegiate goal off a free position shot to build the Express lead to 11-4. Julia Barn Wells would go on to have four goals, Grace Kahl had three goals, and Clara Lima tallied 13 total points on the day (7 goals and 6 assists) that lands her in the top 5 all-time for the Express in points in a game for women's lacrosse! Wells Goalies Lauren Spiegel only allowed five goals on twenty-eight shots which helped the Express grab their first win on the road by a score of 16-9.

Tomorrow evening women's lacrosse will host SUNY Morrisville at 7 PM!
