FIVE RUN SEVENTH PROPELS WELLS OVER KEYSTONE IN GAME ONE

Aurora, N.Y.- Kelly Cornwell's (Caledonia, N.Y./Caledonia-Mumford) walk off RBI single to center capped a five run seventh inning for the Wells College softball team as the Express came back to defeat the Keystone College Giants 11-10 in game one of a non-conference double-header on Tuesday afternoon in Aurora, N.Y. Wells fell 15-5 in the nightcap to the Giants. With the split the Express improve to 8-8, while the Giants fall to 10-15-1 on the year.

Winning pitcher Aly Mann (Walden, N.Y/Valley) paced the Express in game one going a perfect 3-3 from the plate, including a double and three RBI's, while tossing a complete game on the mound, striking out five.

Loryn Haas (Jersey Shore, Pa.) and Abby Cohen (Bethlehem, Pa.) led the Giants in game one with two hits each, while Jessica Weingart (Belle Mead, N.J.) took the loss on the mound tossing seven innings, allowing 11 earned runs on 13 hits.

Keystone cruised to victory in game two, scoring 15 runs on 17 hits. Cornwell and Lorelei Meier (Caledonia, N.Y./Caledonia-Mumford) led the Express with two hits each in the game.

Carissa Iyoob (Jessup, Pa.) led the Giants in game two going 3-5 from the plate, including a solo homerun.

Wells returns to action against North Eastern Athletic Conference opponent Wilson College in a double-header set for Friday at 4:00 p.m. in Aurora, N.Y.
