Harrisburg, Pa.– The Wells College women's softball team remained unbeaten in North Eastern Athletic Conference play sweeping the Penn. St. Harrisburg Nittany Lions 8-6 and 3-2 in Saturday afternoon's double-header in Harrisburg, Pa. The Express improve to 5-3 (4-0 NEAC), while the Nittany Lions fall to 4-16 (2-6 NEAC).
In game one the Express took advantage of eight base on balls, while Juli Vibbard (Burlington Flats, N.Y/Edmeston) and Rebekah Coons (Voorheesville, N.Y./Voorheesville) collected two hits each to lead the offensive surge. Aly Mann (Walden, N.Y./Valley Central) earned the win on mound tossing seven innings, while allowing just three earned runs on eight hits.
Savanna Duh (South Bound Brook, N.J./S. Bound Brook) paced the Express in game two, driving in two runs, while Brittany Stanton (Deposit, N.Y./Deposit) finished the game 2-3 as the Express completed the two game sweep. Lorelei Meier (Caledonia, N.Y./Caledonia-Mumford) earned the win on the mound hurling seven innings, allowing seven hits on no earned runs.
The Express return to action on Wednesday, April 7, against Keuka College at 3:00 p.m. in Keuka Park, N.Y.
