Bio

Alison Short joined the Wells College women's basketball coaching staff during the 2015-16 season as an assistant coach.

A native of Port Byron, N.Y., Short joins the Express from Union Springs High School where she has served as the junior varsity Girls Basketball Coach since the 2013-14 season. She also assists with her alma mater, Cayuga Community College, in softball while piloting the junior varsity field hockey squad at Auburn High School.

A 2012 graduate of Cayuga Community College with an Associates Degree in Applied Science, Short was a two-year member of the Spartans women's basketball team, averaging 9.9 points per game while collecting 5.2 rebounds per game during her tenure. She was also named as a two-year captain while earning Dean's List recognition for her work in the classroom.

The recipient of the "Most Outstanding Female Athlete" at Port Byron High School prior to graduating in 2010, she collected Most Valuable Player honors in both basketball and softball. She was also a two-time recipient of the Coaches' Award for field hockey as a junior and a senior.

Outside of her work in coaching, Short is employed by the Cayuga/Seneca Community Action Agency of Auburn, N.Y. She resides in Port Byron, N.Y.
