Women's Basketball Falls In Conference Opener

Women's basketball was back in action Saturday when they hit the road for Penn State Berks to open up conference play. The Express fell in this one, 75-20.

Penn State Berks would open on a 6-0 run that was stopped when Morgan Adams knocked down two free throws. Morgan Adams also helped on the defensive end recording 2 blocks in the first quarter. In the second quarter, Berks would start on another run that was once again halted by Express free throws, this time by Sydney Bateman. At the half, the Express were out-rebounded 31-11 and made just two field goals with the rest of their points coming from the foul line. 

The Express came out in the second half and got two quick baskets. A layup from Ai Orita followed by a layup from Roosa Armstead-Lehti, her first points of the season. The Express would go on the make the third quarter their highest-scoring quarter of the game. Wells College ended up shooting only 14% from the floor and 67% from the foul line. This helped Penn State Berks secure their first conference win. 

Women's basketball will be back home Tuesday when they host Hilbert College.
