Season Opener for Women's Lacrosse Postponed

AURORA, N.Y. – The season-opening game for the Wells College women's lacrosse team against the Highlanders of Houghton College has been postponed due to inclement weather. A new game date and time for the contest, originally slated for 7 p.m. on Tuesday, has not yet been announced.

The women's lacrosse program at Wells is beginning its 37th season of varsity competition in Aurora in 2015. Last season, the regularly-scheduled game against Houghton was postponed once and ultimately canceled on Tuesday, Apr. 29 due to unplayable conditions on the South Athletic Field.

In all-time program history, Wells is 2-0 against the Highlanders after posting a 7-1 victory versus Houghton on Mar. 5, 1980 and, most recently, a tight 7-6 win on Mar. 20, 2013.
