Wells Express Athletes Of the Week 3/10

Congratulations to our Wells Express Athletes of the Week Clara Lima and Jonathan Haines!

Clara Lima was selected this week based on her performance in the season's first game at SUNY Poly. the Express hit the road in the windy cold to take on the Wildcats and Clara Lima scored her first two goals of the season. These were Lima's 56 and 57th career goals for Wells College. Clara is in her junior year at Wells College and comes to us from Mamaroneck, NY. Women's lacrosse will return soon!

Jonathan Haines was nominated this week by his head coach Ryan Stevens. Haines got the start on the mound when the SUNY Poly Wildcats came to town on March 6th. He threw 6 complete innings giving up only 3 runs on 4 hits with 7 strikeouts. Later in the week during the baseball team's trip to Myrtle Beach, Haines would crush a grand slam, the first grand slam of the season for wells College lifting them to a 4-3 win over the Geneva Golden Tornadoes. Jonathan is in his sophomore year here at Wells College and comes to us from Arkport, NY.
