RED DRAGONS DEFEAT EXPRESS

Cortland, NY – The Corltand St. Red Dragons rolled over the Express 8-1 on Tuesday evening in Cortland. With the loss the Express drop to 4-4 on the season. The Red Dragons held a 3-0 lead after doubles play and would take 5 of the 6 singles matches en-route to victory.

Sophomore Ana Riley (Syracuse, NY) split the first two sets of her singles match with Kristina Lazzaro (Williamsville/Williamsville East). The first set went to Riley, 7-6, with a 7-2 tiebreaker, and Lazzaro won the second set, 6-4. Due to the lateness of the match, a seven-point tiebreaker was played in lieu of a third set and Lazzaro won, 7-1.

Ali Nolan won the only match of the day for the Express defeating Alana Sullivan (Stony Point) 7-5, 7-5 in singles play.

The Express will return to the court on Saturday, April 18th at home against SUNY Oswego with the first match set for 1:00 pm.
