Men’s Basketball Team Gets Great Start Against Fighting Tigers

The Wells College men's basketball team fell behind by a 3-0 score in the opening moments of their game against visiting SUNY Cobleskill on Saturday, Jan. 18. The Express responded with a 12-3 run that had Wells doubling Cobleskill at 12-6 in the early going.

The Fighting Tigers came back and built a six-point lead of their own at 25-19, but Wells scored the next six to tie the game at 25-25 late in the first half. Cobleskill ended the first half and started the second with 38 of the game's next 53 points to pull away and defeat Wells by an 81-58 final.

The Express' Jalen pair were the team's top-two scorers and top-two rebounders after Jalen Tribble finished with a team-high 17 points followed by Jalen Feliz's 13 points. The pair co-led the team in boards with four each.

Feliz got nine of his 13 from beyond the arc and one of those threes tied the game at 25. The next best offensive point production came from the bench, where Dylan Frost scored a half-dozen. Ty McBride had a team-high seven assists for Wells.

The men's team next travel to Keuka College for a 6 p.m. start on Wednesday, Jan. 22.
