Express and Wildcats Go to the Wire in Men’s Basketball Game

The Wells College men's basketball team controlled the majority of its matchup with visiting Cazenovia College before falling 73-64 on Saturday, Jan. 25.

With one-score separating the teams in the final two minutes, the Wildcats got their best scoring surge when they needed it most by outscoring Wells 10-4 down the stretch to steal the win.

The Express built an eight-point lead just five minutes into the second half, but the lead was reduced to three midway through the second and with under five minutes to go the Wildcats took their first second-half lead at 58-56. The teams battled back and forth to the wire and it was 63-60 with about 1:45 left.

Dylan Frost was Wells' only double-digit scorer with 16 and also led the team in rebounds with 10 for a double-double.

The men's team next hosts Ithaca on Tuesday, Jan. 28 in a game that was rescheduled from a postponement due to weather. Tip-off is slated for 7 p.m.
