Men's Basketball Falls to The Statesmen

Wells College men's basketball traveled to Geneva, NY on Tuesday to take on the Hobart Statesmen in their final contest before the break.

The Express got some early scoring from their guards with some stops on defense allowing them to push the break.  Halfway through the first half, Wells was only down 17-15. Billy McCrae and Ivan Oduro-Dompreh got the scoring done inside while Evan Hauser and Terrance Clayton-Murphy shot it well from three. A few turnovers and defensive lapses kept the Express behind the Statesmen by a score of 38-29 at the half.

The Express scored first in the second half off a post move from Billy McCrae. Wells opened the half on a 6-2 run over the Stateman forcing a timeout. Post timeout, the Express went on a scoring drought while the Statesman ramped up the full-court pressure forcing turnovers. Hobart continued to outscore Wells in the second half handing the Express their tenth loss of the season. Alex Grant (15) and Evan Hauser (14) each scored a season-high.

Men's basketball will now head into winter break and return to action on January 3 when they host the La Roche RedHawks.
