Spiegel Named NEAC Women’s Lacrosse Defensive Player of the Week

The North Eastern Athletic Conference named Wells College's women's lacrosse goalkeeper Lauren Spiegel (Ballston Lake, N.Y.) as its women's lacrosse defensive player of the week on April 5.

Spiegel loomed large in net as she helped guide the Express to their first victory of 2021. The freshman netminder stopped a career-high 21 Mount Aloysius shots, only allowing seven goals on the day.

Spiegel was especially sharp on turning away free position shots by the Mounties, especially when the teams battled for an edge with just one goal separating the teams throughout most of the first half. Her save percentage for the contest ended at .750.
