Wells
The Wells College softball team lost a pair of games against Medaille College on Wednesday, March 27 at the Wells Turf Field. Medaille won the first game 12-0 and took the second game 7-2. Wells is back in action Thursday, March 28 with a home doubleheader against Keuka College beginning at 5 p.m.
MEDAILLE 12, WELLS 0 (5 inn.)
The Mavericks broke the score open with four runs in the third and five in the fourth. Wells was held to one hit, a sharp single up the middle by Jenna Devora. The Express also worked five walks off of Medaille pitcher Vickie Waugaman.
MEDAILLE 7, WELLS 2
Medaille had a three-run rally in the fourth inning and scored single runs in four other innings. Wells had a two-run rally in the bottom of the sixth. Naomi Kubo walked to start the inning. Lizzie Monnat and Jenna Devora hit back-to-back doubles and each of those drove in a run.
Kubo hit a third-inning double but was stranded at third. Jess Conover pitched all seven innings for Wells.
