Softball Drops Two Home Games to Penn College

Wells College softball hosted the Penn College Wildcats on Friday for a doubleheader of conference play.

The Wildcats are currently the top-ranked team in the conference and presented quite a challenge for the Express this afternoon.

Sara Mattle pitched a complete game one for the Express holding the Wildcats to just nine runs. The offense for Wells College in the first game was shut down by the opposing pitcher who did not allow a hit or a base runner all game. The Wildcats took game 1, 9-0. In game two, Natalie Day leads the game off by smacking a single up the middle, which would be the only hit of the game for Wells College. The Wildcats would reach base via walk twelve times in game two helping them build and hold a steady lead. They added seventeen hits to the walks and the Express made six errors defensively. this all added up to a 24-0 loss in game two for Wells College.

Softball will be back in action tomorrow at home when they take on Penn State Harrisburg starting at noon!
