Wells College Softball Hosts the SUNY Delhi Broncos

This afternoon, Wells College softball hosted the SUNY Delhi Broncos for their home opener.

The Express hoped to capture their first win of the season and the Broncos entered with a 1-9 overall record.

Wells got on the board early in game one when in the bottom of the first, a Shay Gonzales ground out scored Natalie Day who led the game off with a single. In the second inning, Wells tied the game up at 2 when Morgan Brown scored on a wild pitch that advanced all the runners. Unfortunately, those were the only two runs of the game for Wells College and the Broncos added 10. With 8 errors and a complete game from Sara Mattle, Wells dropped game one 10-2.

In game two, the Express were able to muster 4 hits but none of them were in succession. Natalie Day and Serina Sheradin doubled in the game but were unable to score. Megan Litzenberger and Sara Mattle were on the mound for Wells College. Wells only committed one error and game two, but the Broncos scored 13 runs on 18 hits to take game two, 13-0.

Softball will hit the road this weekend for Penn College and Penn State Harrisburg.
