Softball Finishes The Season With A Home Win

Wells College softball hosted their final double header of the season against the Lancaster Bible Chargers on Saturday afternoon.

In game one, the only two runs scored for Wells came across in the bottom of the third when Morgan Brown and Shay Gonzales hit back-to-back singles. Serina Sheradin then smacked a double to center field that scored both runners. Defensively Wells struggled with 6 fielding errors that helped the Chargers win game one by a score of 18-2.

Wells College jumped out to a small lead in the bottom of the first in game two after Shay Gonzales scored on a bases-loaded passed ball and Wells went up 1-0. In the bottom of the second, Wells opened up an even larger lead with hits from Lauren Kimball, Morgan Brown, Shay Gonzales, Serina Sheradin, and Sara Mattle. The Express scored five runs on five hits to take a 6-0 lead into the third. Wells pushed across two insurance runs in the third and fourth inning to take an 8-4 lead into the seventh. Sara Mattle was able to hold the Charger's offense and finish the game forcing a ground ball to Sheradin giving the Express their second win of the season! Sheradin and Brown both hit triples in game two!

The Express also acknowledged their senior Megan Litzenberger this afternoon! Thank you Megan for your dedication to the Wells College softball program!
