The Wells College softball team dropped a pair of games to visiting Penn State Harrisburg on Saturday, April 17.
In the first game, the Express rallied from eight runs down by scoring half that total in the team's fourth and fifth innings.
Wells finished with 11 hits with four players each finishing with a pair. Olivia Maish (Palmdale, Calif), Serina Sheradin (Fayetteville, N.Y), Jenna Devora (San Antonio, Tx.) and Hannah Harmon (Spencer, N.Y.) accounted for eight collective hits with solo shots from Erin Normile (Binghamton, N.Y), Jennifer McCumber (Albany, N.Y.) and Brittney Meade (King Ferry, N.Y).
The Express also stranded 11 runners that prevented the team from rallying further. Devora took the pitching loss after allowing 14 hits with a pair of strikeouts.
In the second game, Wells finished with a half-dozen hits with five coming from their first and last at-bats. Maish plated her second two-hit performance on the day and was joined by Normile. Getting just one hit was Harmon and Devora with the latter netting a pair of RBI.
Maish took the loss from the circle after allowing eight hits, while Devora finished the contest in relief.
The softball team next travels to Lancaster Bible College next weekend on Sunday, April 25 for a conference doubleheader.
