Wells College softball started their 2023 campaign on the road at Medaille College this Wednesday.
First-year pitcher, Sara Mattle, threw a complete game for the Express in game 1. It was the offense that struggled for Wells, and they were held to only one hit coming off the bat of Serina Sheradin in the top of the fourth inning. the Mavericks of Medaille took advantage of the two errors committed by the Express and won the first game 8-0.
In game two, the Express once again was held to one hit. This time it was first-year infielder Natalie Day who broke the no-hitter in the top of the 5th inning. Defensively, 5 errors were committed by Wells College which helped Medaille build a convincing lead. The Mavericks won game 2, 16-0.
Softball will hit the road this weekend to take on the Gallaudet Bison and Lancaster Bible Chargers!
