Express Softball Continues Non Conference Play

Wells College softball hosted the Clarks Summit University Defenders on Monday afternoon for a non-conference doubleheader.

Game one was the season's highest-scoring game for the Wells Express offense. they scored in every inning of game one except for the second. Serina Sheradin, Morgan Brown, and Anna Bernatavitz all hit a double. Sheradin also smacked a triple while going four for four in the game with two RBI. The fourth inning for Wells was the most exciting when Wells scored nine runs on three hits, five walks, and an error. Serina Sheradin started everything off with a single and Nicketa Utter kept it going with a single later in the inning. Unfortunately, the Defenders did not go quietly and added thirteen runs in the sixth inning to win game one by a score of 25-16.

In game two, Wells College ran into some offensive trouble. They only tallied three hits for the game with two of them coming off the bat of Shay Gonzales. Morgan Brown got her first hit of the game at the bottom of the fifth. The Express scored their only two ruins of the game in the fifth when a Lauren Kimball ground out scored Diamon Robinson-Wilson. Then, Shay Gonzales scored on a passed ball. The Defenders however scored seventeen runs on fourteen hits and five defensive errors by the Express. Wells fell in game two, 17-2.
