Wells Express Athletes Of The Week 12/9

Congratulations to Sydney Bateman and Ivan Oduro-Dompreh for being named our athletes of the week!

Sydney was selected this week based on her performance at home against Alfred State on December 10th. Sydney scored a career-high 17 points against the Pioneers! Bateman shot 75% from behind the arch (3-4) and 44% from the field. Bateman also grabbed 6 rebounds. She comes to Wells College from Edmeston, NY, and is in her Sophomore season. Tara Ruckh, Associate Athletic Director nominated Sydney.

Ivan was selected this week based on his performances last week during two home wins against Hilbert and Houghton. Against the Hilbert Hawks, Ivan had 11 points, 7 rebounds, and 3 blocks. Against the Highlanders, Ivan scored 19 points, grabbed 11 boards, and tallied a block, steal, and assist. In both match-ups, Ivan's athleticism was on full display with a handful of explosive dunks in each game that got both the crowd and his teammates more engaged. Ivan comes to Wells from Savage, MD, and is in his sophomore season. He was nominated by his head coach, Joe Wojtylko.
