Men's Lacrosse Falls To SUNY Delhi

The Wells College men's lacrosse team suffered its first setback of the season in an 11-6 loss to SUNY Delhi on Saturday, March 10 at the Wells Turf Field in Aurora, N.Y.

Aaron Heisey and Brady Hoose each scored two goals for Wells. Tanner Mingen and Brian Buttner scored the other two Wells goals.

Wells trailed 3-2 after the first quarter, and Delhi scored all three goals in the second quarter to build a 6-2 advantage at halftime.

The Express got back into the contest with goals from Aaron Heisey and Brady Hoose to open the third quarter and make the score 6-4, but Delhi went on another three-goal run. Hoose and Heisey scored fourth-quarter goals for the Express.

Zach Simone made nine saves for Wells. Tanner Mingen had seven ground balls and Aaron Heisey and Cash Lawson each had two caused turnovers.

Wells was 1-for-6 in extra-man opportunities. Delhi won 11 of 19 faceoffs.

Wells is 2-1 in the season and SUNY Delhi improved to 2-3 on the year.

The Express is back in action Tuesday, March 13 at SUNY Canton at 1 p.m.
