Men's Lacrosse Defeated By SUNY Delhi

The Wells College men's lacrosse team returned to action for the first time in over two weeks and dropped a 10-8 contest against SUNY Delhi on Saturday, March 25 in a game played at SUNY Oneonta. Wells stands at 1-2 on the season and will continue non-conference play Thursday, March 30 at home against SUNY Canton.

The game was tied 3-3 after the first quarter as Tanner Mingen scored twice and Alex Milliken added another. The Express scored two of the first three goals in the second quarter to take its first lead of the game at 5-4, but SUNY Delhi scored the last three goals of the first half to lead 7-5 at halftime. Delhi added two more goals late in the third quarter and one in the fourth to stretch the lead to 10-5.

Wells closed the game with three straight goals but that was all for the comeback.

Alex Milliken finished with four goals and Tanner Mingen scored three. Aaron Heisey scored a man-up goal during the fourth-quarter run and also had an assist. Brian Buttner added an assist for Wells. Express goalkeeper Nick Hallinan made 11 saves.

Each team won 11 faceoffs in the game. Mingen forced three turnovers and Brendan O'Connor had two caused turnovers.
