Wilkes Pulls Away In Win Over Wells Men's Lacrosse

The Wells College men's lacrosse team went on the road and lost 22-7 at Wilkes University on Saturday, March 23. The Colonels scored 11 goals in a row during the second quarter to break open a close game.

Wilkes scored the first two goals in the first quarter, but the Express tied the score on back-to-back goals by Quinten Battle. Nathan Ramsey scored in the second quarter for the Express to make the score 4-3, then Wilkes scored 11 in a row before halftime and led 15-3 at the break.

Ramsey and Battle added second-half goals and Padraic Iannello had two second-half goals for the Express. Iannello and Cash Lawson had assists in the game. Trevor Stein made 14 saves for Wells. Stein and Lawson each had seven ground balls and one caused turnover.

Wells is 1-5 on the season and returns to action Saturday, March 30 at noon against SUNY Canton at the Wells Turf Field.
