Men's Lacrosse Falls At Hilbert In NEAC Opener

The Wells College men's lacrosse team lost 27-8 at Hilbert College on Wednesday, April 3 in a North Eastern Athletic Conference game played at Eden High School, the temporary home field for Hilbert men's lacrosse.

Hilbert scored the first two goals of the game, but Quinten Battle scored for Wells to pull the Express within 2-1. The Hawks scored seven goals in a span of just over four minutes to close the first quarter, and added six more in the second quarter. Hilbert had a 15-2 lead at halftime.

Quinten Battle and Trevor Stein each had three goals and one assist for Wells in the game. Nathan Ramsey had two goals and one assist. Stein had three caused turnovers and four ground balls. Cash Lawson won eight faceoffs and had three ground balls. Battle and Justin Dude had six ground balls apiece.

Cory Hodge Jr. started in goal and played the full 60 minutes with five saves.

Hilbert is 3-3 overall and 1-0 in the NEAC. Wells is 1-7 overall and 0-1 at home. Wells is back in action at home Saturday, April 6 at 1 p.m. against Morrisville State.
