ROBERTS WESLEYAN TOPS EXPRESS

Aurora, N.Y.–  The Roberts Wesleyan women's tennis team denied Wells College their third straight win handing the Express a 9-0 shutout loss on Wednesday afternoon in Aurora, N.Y. The Raiders, a member of the NAIA Division II, improved their record to 6-0, while the Express fall to 2-1 on the season.

The Raiders jumped out to a quick lead sweeping the doubles flight by a combined score of 24-2. The duo of Lorina and Mindy LaMier were the only ones to manage points, falling in No. 3 doubles 8-2. 

Roberts Wesleyan continued their dominance in the singles flights taking all six matches to secure the shutout victory.  Kelly Pietruch and Mindy LaMier put up the toughest fight from No. 5 and No. 6 singles respectively. Pietruch fell 6-3, 6-2, while LaMier fell 6-3, 6-3. 

The Express return to action on Saturday, April 3 at 1:00 p.m. against The College of St. Elizabeth in Morristown, N.J.
