NITTANY LIONS OVERPOWER EXPRESS

(Aurora, N.Y.)─ The Penn. St. Abington women's team dropped the No. 1 doubles match and then went on to take the final two doubles matches and sweep the singles round en route to an 8-1 victory over Wells College in North Eastern Athletic Conference action on Sunday afternoon in Aurora. With the loss the Express fall to 2-5 (2-2 NEAC). 

Doubles teammates Sarah Hansen and Caitlyn Copfer were the only team to earn a victory for the Express, defeating Nittany Lion's No. 1 doubles team 8-3. Kelly Pietruch and Brittany Vanno fell 9-7 in a thrilling match at No. 3 doubles.   

The Nittany Lions stayed the course in the singles match-up, defeating the Express in straight sets in all six matches.   

The Express return to action on Saturday, April 16 when they welcome NEAC opponent Penn. St. Berks to campus for 1 p.m. start in Aurora.
