KEAN ROLLS OVER WOMEN'S LACROSSE

Ithaca, N.Y.– Lyndsey Cannon finished with eight goals and three assists as the Kean University women's lacrosse team (1-2) defeated the Wells College Express (0-3) 19-10 on Sunday afternoon at Schoellkopf Field on the campus of Cornell University in Ithaca, N.Y. Sarah Allen (Clay, N.Y./Cicero-North) led the Express with five goals, while Emily Lotkowictz (Skaneateles, N.Y./Skaneateles) chipped in with three goals and one assists. Elizabeth Barclay (Laporte, Pa./Lincoln Academy) finished with a game high 13 saves in the loss.

The Cougars of Kean University took an early 4-1 lead on three goals by Cannon, but the Express would battle back as Lotkowictz and Allen each netted goals to trim the lead to 4-3. The Cougars would come charging back as three different Kean players would find the back of the net, extending their lead to 8-5.

The momentum would swing back towards the Express on goals by Lotkowictz and Eleanor Eshenour (Waterloo, N.Y./Waterloo), climbing back to within one at 8-7 with 2:18 remaining. Cannon and the Cougars would get the last look though, as Cannon streaked the entire length of field and blasted a shot by Barclay with one second remaining to give the Cougars a 9-7 halftime lead.

It was all Kean in the second half, scoring four unanswered goals to start, while outshooting the Express 27-6 in the half as the Cougars cruised to the  nine goal victory.

The Express return to action Friday, March 19, against Mt. St. Mary's College at 4:30 p.m. in Aurora, N.Y.
