EXPRESS BLOWOUT HILBERT HAWKS

Aurora, NY–  Sophomore Greg Jones (Alexandria, V.A) scored a game high 24 points and freshmen Matt Duffy (Huntington, N.Y) chipped in with 14 points as the Wells College men's basketball team rolled over the Hilbert College Hawks  (1-5) 94-61 on Monday night at Wells. Nick Piccone (North Chili, N.Y.) finished with 13 points to lead the Hawks in the loss. Wells has now won three straight and four of their last five games improving to 4-2 on the season.

Both teams played evenly through the first 15 minutes of play until senior Kenny Edmonds hit a three-pointer with 6:05 to play in the first half giving the Express a three-point lead, 31-28. The Express would hold onto the lead heading into halftime up 46-38. 

The second half was a completely different story as the Express opened with a 32-5 run after the first ten minutes of play as the Express cruised to the 33-point victory. 

Overall, the Express had nine different players score including Juan Paulino (Bronx, N.Y.) who finished with eight points and a game high 13 rebounds. The Express shot 44 percent (36-81) from the floor, 28 percent from behind the arc (8-28), and 56 percent (14-25) from the charity stripe. 

The Express will next take on York College (NY) in the first game of the Skidmore College Tournament set to begin on Friday, December 4th at 6:00 pm at Skidmore College in Saratoga Springs, N.Y.
