'On This Day' Men’s Volleyball Program Records Historic Win Over Ranked Opponent

'On This Day' is a Wells College Athletics feature series taking a look back on events that occurred on this day, Jan. 19, three years ago in 2018.

MARCY, N.Y. - The Wells College men's volleyball team started its 2018 season against a nationally-ranked opponent on Friday, Jan. 19 at the SUNY Poly Invitational.

In the opening match of the day, Wells defeated No. 4 Vassar College in four sets. It was the first-ever win against a nationally-ranked opponent in Wells men's volleyball history.

The milestone victory for Wells started with a first-set win in extra points and closed out with a fourth-set victory in extra points. Set scores were 27-25, 22-25, 25-21, 26-24.

Brannon Perdicho led Wells with 14 kills and Josh Undari had eight kills. Scott Litvin and Mike Hartman had 10 digs each, and Litvin added 27 assists. Jonathan Haines had two solo blocks and one block assist.
