'On This Day' Perdicho Becomes First to Record 1,000 Kills for Men’s Volleyball Program

'On This Day' is a Wells College Athletics feature series taking a look back on events that occurred on this day, Jan. 27, three years ago in 2018.

The Wells College men's volleyball team started tournament play with a victory and a milestone on Saturday, Jan. 27, 2018, at the Elmira College Invitational.

Wells began with a four-set win over Thiel where senior Brannon Perdicho became the first in program history to register 1,000 kills.

In addition to reaching the prestigious milestone with one of his team-leading 16 kills during the match, Perdicho also added 10 digs and one block assist.

Wells defeated Thiel 25-17, 25-21, 18-25, 25-18. Caden O'Loughlin had 13 kills with a .324 hitting percentage.

Robert Patzer added nine kills, while Josh Undari had 29 assists and Scott Litvin had 20 assists. O'Loughlin served up three aces and along with Mike Hartman added 16 collective digs with each registering eight apiece. Jonathan Haines had four block assists and Patzer had three block assists.
