Baseball Takes Two In A Row From SUNY Poly

Wells College baseball hosted the SUNY Poly Wildcats again for another non-conference game Monday afternoon. 

Jonathan Haines was back on the mound for the Express. After giving up a few hits and one run in the first inning, Haines settled in to go six complete innings giving up three runs on four hits while striking out seven. Ryan Wiser game in relief throwing two scoreless innings and only allowing one hit. Mike Nascimento would close it out and get his first Collegiate save. 

Zach Young swiped home plate while Lance Phillips was in a run down in the bottom of the second inning to tie it up at 1. Zach Yung later would hit a SAC fly to left field that brought home Max Odum and gave the Express a 2-1 lead. In the bottom of the eight, Wells found themselves down 3-2. Zac Legaretta started with a double to left field followed by an infield error allowing Lance Phillips to reach first. Jacobi James would then hit an infield single to load the bases. Bradley Mills grounded out but pushed the run across to tie the game up at 3. Max Odum would get an infield hit that moved another two runs across giving the Express a 5-3 lead. Later, Max Odum scored on a wild pitch to give the Express the winning score of 6-3.

Baseball will be back home Wednesday when they host Hobart.
