Baseball Falls To Keene State In Myrtle Beach

For their second to last game in Myrtle Beach, the Wells College baseball team took on Keene St.

It was a bright and early 9 AM start for the Express who walked it off last night against Cairn thanks to Zack Odum. The offense pushed two runs across the board in the bottom of the first inning when Zach Young walked with the bases loaded and Zac Legaretta hit a SAC fly to right field. Ethan Zimmerman started for the Express and Keene State scored 1 run in the second and third inning to tie this one up at 2. In the bottom of the third, a Jonathan Haines single scored Bradley Mills giving the Express a one-run lead heading into the fourth. Keene piled on 9 runs combined over the next three innings putting the Express in a tough position battling fatigue. Wells was able to scrape across two more runs but the Keene St lead was too large and the Express fell 11-5.

Baseball plays its final game at the Ripken Experience tomorrow at noon against Suffolk.
