Baseball Earns A Home Conference Win

Wells College baseball hosted the Gallaudet Bison Saturday evening for the first of a three-game series. 

After falling behind 1-0 in the top of the second, Lance Phillips walked with the bases loaded to send home to tying run. In the fourth inning, Aaron Izquierdo started the Express off with a single which was followed by a single from Lance Phillips. John Valnoti then put one over the left field fence for a three-run home run giving Wells a 4-2 lead. The Express broke this one open in the bottom of the seventh inning. Zac Legaretta hit his second home run of the season after a single from Zach Odum. Jacobi James walked with the bases loaded sending home another run, John Valnoti singled home Zach Young, and Jacobi James stole home and heading into the ninth inning, the Express had a 12-7 lead. Jonathan Haines got the start and the bullpen through three good innings to help Wells grab their second conference win of the season.

They will host Gallaudet for a double header tomorrow starting at noon.
