Wells College baseball hosts a conference series against Penn State berks starting today with a 3:30 PM game one start.

The Express took a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the second when Jonathan Haines doubled home Zack Odum. After Berks grabbed a 2-1 lead in the top of the second, a Max Odum triple in the bottom of the second scored John Valinoti and Lance Phillips giving Wells a 3-2 lead. In the bottom of the fourth, Wells found themselves down 6-3. Zac Legaretta started the inning off with a double to center field. that was followed by a Lance Phillips single that scored Legaretta and John Valinoti Walk. Alan Compres would then reach first on an error, scoring Lance Phillips from third. Max and Zack Odum both had SAC flies in the inning which gave Wells a 7-6 lead. in the bottom of the sixth, Max Odum (who went 4-4 on the day) tripled to right field. Aaron Izquierdo reached on a fielder's choice and Jonathan Haines sent everyone with a 3-run homerun to right field, his second of the season. Pitching was the Achilles heel for the Express this afternoon sadly. Starter Ethan Zimmerman gave up 6 runs in 4 innings. Then the bullpen that went a combined 5 innings gave up 11 runs on 10 hits with 6 walks. This helped Penn State Berks secure a 17-10 win.
