Baseballs Offense Comes Alive For The Express Against Medaille

Wells College baseball hosted the Medaille Mavericks in a nonconference game this afternoon in Aurora, NY. 

Zander Johnson started on the mound for Wells College and had an excellent outing. Johnson went 6 complete innings giving up only three hits and one run. The Bullpen for the Express held the Mavericks scoreless. Nick Manee, Stephen Dietl, and Mike Nascimento each went one complete inning with Nick Manee allowing the only hit. Nascimento struck out two of the three batters he faced in the top of the ninth to close out the game on a high note for Wells College. On offense, the Express produced 18 hits, 10 of which were extra-base hits. Max Odum had an exceptional day at the plate going 3 for 5 with 6 RBIs and scoring 2 runs. Max Odum and Jacobi James were both a homerun shy of hitting for the cycle. First-year outfielder Alan Compres went 2 for 3 on the day scoring two runs as well. Shortstop Zac Legaretta went 3 for 5 with 2 RBI's and every hit was a double. The Express scored in every inning of play except for the second. Wells built a 16-1 lead over the Mavericks and captured a home win on the turf.

Baseball will stay home this weekend to take on Penn State Berks.
