Tuesday night was the final night of the regular season for Wells College Softball.
They had battled all year and finally made it to the final two-game series against the visiting Keuka College Wolves.
The first game did not start exactly how the Express had imagined. By the second inning, Wells College had committed 8 errors on defense which helped the Wolves take a 10-0 lead. The Express were able to get on the board in the second inning when Haylie Dixon singled to right field sending home Jennifer McCumber for the first run of the game. Unfortunately, the Wolves would add on t their ten runs and win this one by a score of 18-1.
The second game started a bit differently. The Express were able to clean up the defense but the Wolves smacked 8 runs on 5 hits in the first inning. Then 6 runs on 5 hits in the second inning to go up 14-0. The Express would struggle on offense in this game with the only hit coming off the bat of Jen McCumber in the bottom of the fourth inning. The Wolves would once again defeat the Express, this time by a score of 22-0.
