Express Softball hosts st lawrence

On Monday afternoon the Wells Express softball team was back in action for two afternoon home games.

The St Lawrence Saints came to town with a 7-4 record while the Express were still looking to capture their first win of the season.

In the first game of the afternoon, Gabby Slater for the visiting Saints was able to shut down the Express offense with 8 strikeouts. Unfortunately for Wells, the Saint's bats were also hot putting up 6 runs in the first two innings. The Express was not able to get to the second pitcher for St Lawrence either and ended up without a hit in the first game as they fell by a score of 21-0.

Megan Litzenberger started for the first and second game for the Express and was then relieved by Jen McCumber. In the second game, Wells College was plagued by errors, injuries, and walks which helped the Saints build a 20-0 lead after 3 innings. A bright spot in the second game for the Express was Serina Sheradain who went 2-2 from the plate in the second game smashing the only 2 hits on the afternoon for Wells College. In the end, the Express would fall once against by a score of 25-0.

Express Stat Leaders:

Megan Litzenberger: 7.0 IP

Serina Sheradin: 2-4
