Men's Volleyball Takes Down The Mounties At Home

Wells College men's volleyball continued their conference schedule on Saturday afternoon when they hosted the Mounties of Mt Aloysius College.

The Express looked sluggish in the first set allowing the Mounties to hold them to just 14 points in the set falling 25-14. In the second set, the Express came alive. They did not allow the Mounties to go on any large runs keeping it a close set down to the wire. The final three points for Wells College came from kills by Billy McCrae helping them win 28-26. the fourth set was similar in that neither team was able to grab a large lead. A few late errors gave the Mounties just enough daylight to win the third set, 26-24. The Express did not go quietly being behind 2 sets to 1. Billy McCrae and Connor Garvey put the pressure on the Mounties for the entire fourth set thanks to Mason Moon who had 39 assists on the day. the Express forced a 5th and final set, 25-22. In the fifth, you could tell Wells College brought the energy and was not going to let this match get away from them. Connor Garvey served up three straight aces, Harrison Keena, Confidence Burrowes, and Billy McCrae all tallied kills helping the Express win the match, 3-2 (15-8).

Men's Volleyball will return home Wednesday when they host Medaille.
