Wells College Hosts SUNY Poly For Men's Volleyball

On Wednesday night, the Wells College Express Men's Volleyball team hosted the Wildcats of SUNY Poly for their last home game of the season.

Earlier this season, the Express had traveled to SUNY Poly in a match that they ended up losing 3-0. The Express looked to exact some revenge this evening at home. 

This was also a night where we celebrated our seniors, Cooper Colesante and Christian Hahn.

In the first set, the Express only had 6 kills to the Wildcats' 14. Despite the kill difference, the Express would battle the entire set never letting SUNY Poly pull away but Wells would ultimately fall in the first set, 25-23.

The second set is where the Express began to close the kill gap with 10 of their own to the Wildcats' 15. Thanks to Cooper Colesante's 8 assists the Express were able to keep it close once again but would lose the second set as well, 25-22.

Neither team would give an inch in the third set. the lead was never more than 2 either way and it ended up taking more than 25 points to decide this one. Connor Garvey and Riley Mahoney had some BIG TIM late kills for the Express but they just couldn't hold on and ended up losing 3 in a row, 32-30.

The Express will finish their season on the road at Elmira College Saturday where they will take on Bard and Juanita.
