Kucewicz Named NEAC Student-Athlete Of The Week

GANSEVOORT, N.Y. – Freshman Kailin Kucewicz (West Valley, N.Y.) was selected as the North Eastern Athletic Conference Women's Tennis Student-Athlete of the Week for her performance this past week, the conference office announced today. The Wells College women's tennis team posted their first victory of the season against Daemen College on Sunday, Sept. 16.

Kucewicz rebounded from two hard-fought singles losses against Fredonia State University and Elmira College to post a 6-3, 6-2 victory at No. 5 singles against the Wildcats Daemen College, her first collegiate singles victory. In doubles, Kucewicz partnered with classmate Britney DeSouza (Bronx, N.Y.) to knock off the Wildcats No. 3 doubles tandem by an 8-5 score for each of their first collegiate doubles victories.

With their regularly scheduled match against the Lakers of Oswego State University on Tuesday, Sept. 18 postponed indefinitely, the Express return to action Wednesday, Sept. 19 as they travel to face-off against the Storm of Keuka College in a 4:00 p.m. contest.
