Women's Tennis Falls To Penn St.-Berks, 7-2

READING, Pa. – The Wells College women's tennis team posted a 7-2 loss to the Nittany Lions of Penn St.-Berks this past Sunday at Gring's Mill. With the losses, the Express fall to 2-8 overall on the year while their North Eastern Athletic Conference record evens at 1-1. The Nittany Lions, who knocked off the Express last year in the NEAC West Women's Tournament title game, improve to 5-3 overall and to 2-0 within league play.

At No. 3 singles, Ayumi Takeuchi (Eniwa, Hokkaido, Japan) defeated her counterpart from Penn St.-Berks via a 6-2, 6-2 match score. Takeuchi partnered with senior Caitlyn Copfer (Clinton, N.Y.) at No. 1 doubles and powered past Crystal Hitz and Elizabeth Kehm 8-6.

The Express return to action Wednesday, Apr. 10 as they face-off against the Storm of Keuka College in a 4:00 p.m. road tilt.
