Wells Women's basketball kicks off their season!

The Well's Express women's team hosted Elmira College this afternoon in their first game of the season!

The Express were kicking off their first full season since 2019 and were excited to take the floor in font of the home crowd to see how they match-up!

Both teams came out with a lot of energy as the ball moved up and down the floor both teams finding opportunities to score. The Express found themselves down 16-7 at the end of the first quarter. In the second quarter the Express found themselves only being outscored by 2 by the visiting Eagles but down at half by a total of 26-15.  Unfortunately in the 3rd quarter the Eagles came out aggressive and outscored the Express 23-9 building on their lead heading into the 4th quarter. The 4th quarter brought more of the same as the Eagles were able to close out the Express in their season opener by a score of 63-30.

"Its a learning experience for sure. We have another game tomorrow so we recover tonight and come back a better team tomorrow." Coach Tara Ruckh.

The Leading scorer for the Express was Maggie Myers with 16. Caroline Barr also grabbed 16 rebounds.
