Express Men's Hoops starts the season at Cazenovia College

The Express kicked off the season Monday night when they traveled to Cazenovia college for a 7 pm match-up.

This was the first game of the season for both the Express and the Wildcats. This is also the first full season start for both teams since the winter of 2019.

The Express started the game with some serious energy jumping out to a 10-4 lead over the Wildcats. They started with full-court pressure and smothered the Wildcats for the first few minutes of the half. The rest of the first half went back and forth leaving the Express with only a 1 point advantage heading into half time leading by a score of 30-29. The second half brought a lot of excitement as the Wildcats came out on a 6-0 run but the Express answered right back with a 6-1 run of their own. With 8 minutes left in the second half, senior Ty Mcbride his back-to-back 3's to help build the Express lead to 11, its largest lead of the game. Thanks to some key free throws down the stretch from Jarek Feliz and Keian Montero the Express were able to secure their first win of the season by a score of 73-63.

The leading scorer for the Express was Jarek Feliz with 24. Ty McBride, Jalen Feliz, and Ransel Rodriguez each grabbed 6 rebounds as well. Rodrigues also had 6 assists on the day.

The Express will be back in action this Saturday as the host Pitt-Bradford at 2 pm at the Schwartz Athletic Center! Come out and show your support!
